The Backward Classes Commission will submit the social and education status report to the state government in next two months, its chairman H. Kantharaj told reporters after receiving memorandums from various organisations at the zilla panchayat premises here on Thursday.

He underlined the need of necessary reservations to respective castes and communities for providing social justice and equality.

Leaders of backward Thigala, Uppar and Savitha Samaj, which are presently under category two, have appealed for their inclusion in category one, Mr. Kantharaj said.

Members of the Commission M. Gurulinagiah, N.P. Dharmaraj, Gopal, K.N. Lingappa, Sharanappa Manegar and Deputy Commissioner K.V. Thrilokchandra were present.
