Automobile enthusiasts throng The Hindu Auto Expo

Apart from brands like Harley Davidson and Ducati, visitors also cherish Rolls-Royce Ghost and Toyota Alphard

Thousands of visitors thronged the venue of The Hindu Auto Expo which started on Saturday to see an amazing line up of cars and super bikes. The expo, being held at the White Orchid Convention Centre near Manyata Embassy Business Park, will end on Sunday.

With 12 of 15 major automobile manufacturers in the country participating in the expo, visitors had a chance to get a feel of and to witness the products showcased by various manufacturers.

With various bike models from iconic brands like Harley Davidson, Ducati, Kawasaki, as well as cars by Rolls Royce and BMW, the expo was also a chance for those looking to get a closer glimpse at these brands.

Visitors had an opportunity to have a close look at super cars such as Jeep- Grand Cherokee, BMW 750LI, the Rolls-Royce Ghost, Toyota Alphard, and cars by Lamborghini and Maserati among others. Super bikes on display were in the price range of ₹ 12 lakh to ₹ 50 lakh. Companies also had offers in the form of coupons that brings in additional benefits. “ I like visiting such exhibitions. It feels good to see such varieties of cars in one place. My wife and I enjoy it. ” said Richard, a software professional.

The expo, which ends on Sunday at 8 p.m., also has a group of riders who ended a 5,960-km trip along the Golden Quadrilateral by reaching the expo venue on Saturday. The trio — Raghavendra, Niranjan and Mohan Malappa — part of Riders Republic Motorcycle Club — touched 13 States in a weeks time and covered cities like Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Chennai. “ This is the dream of every rider. We are like-minded people who have come together to ride,” they said.

The two -day event was inaugurated by Police Commissioner Praveen Sood. Shaju Kumar, National Vertical Head (Automobile) and Monish Mukherjee, Deputy Regional General Manager (New Delhi) of The Hindu were present. The expo is sponsored by HeroMotoCorp, FCA India Automobiles, Honda India, Jeep, Skoda India, Tata Motors, Volkswagen India, Audi, Datsun, Ford, Renault, Royal Enfield, and Isuzu Maotors India.
