The Bangalore City police have sent several teams to neighbouring districts to look out for the assailant, who brutally attacked the Corporation Bank manager at an ATM near the busy N R Square on Tuesday before robbing her.

Several teams of policemen have been formed and despatched in different directions with the CCTV footage seeking help from their counterparts in the neighbouring districts to identify him, a senior police officer said adding that they had managed to gather a few clues about the assailant.

Meanwhile, the police is also checking the habitual offenders gallery available with the State Crime Records Bureau with his image and also with the finger prints picked up from the ATM,

City Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar visited the victim Jyothi Uday at BGS Global Hospital at Kengeri to enquire about her health . “Though she is responding to treatment and recovering fast, she has become anaemic due to loss of blood”, he said adding that she was not in a position to give full details that could help the police in its investigations.

Referring to the security arrangements at the ATM centres, Mr. Auradkar said that he had convened meetings with the bank officials thrice earlier requesting them to deploy security, but in vain. “We are going to raise this issue with Home Minister (K J George) seeking redressal”, he said.

So far, 38 ATM related crimes have been reported in the City and the police has managed to detect 28 of them.
