‘Atmosphere not conducive to take Reddy to Raj Bhavan'

Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday said the atmosphere was not conducive to take Tourism Minister G. Janardhan Reddy to the Raj Bhavan to reply to Governor H.R. Bhardwaj's notice.

When presspersons sought more details on the Governor's notice to the Minister and his subsequent meeting with Mr. Bhardwaj, the Chief Minister said: “No comments.”

On whether the controversy over the Governor's move to ask the Minister to appear before him ended, Mr. Yeddyurappa said: “I am not going to talk anything pertaining to the Governor.”

Jubilee

Earlier, Mr. Yeddyurappa arrived here by a chartered aircraft and visited Ganapathi Sachchidananda Ashram. He participated in the silver jubilee celebrations of S.G.S. Veda Pathashala there.

He also met Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swami of the ashram.

H.S. Shankarlinge Gowda, MLA; Siddaraju, Thontadarya and K.R. Mallikarjunappa, MLCs; Sandesh Swamy, Mayor; C.H. Vijayashankar, former MP; and G.T. Deve Gowda, KHB Chairman, were among those present.

Minister for Information Technology Katta Subramanya Naidu, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishweswar Hegde Kageri accompanied the Chief Minister.

Convention hall

Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated Sri Vittala Rukmini Convention Hall of Bhavasara Kshatriya Mandali at Vijayanagar here.

Speaking on the occasion, he announced a grant of Rs. 1 crore to the mandali to build a high school.

He also announced allotment of a piece of land to the mandali to construct a hospital.

Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Math graced the occasion.

Mr. Shankaralinge Gowda released “Bhava Vikasa”, a souvenir. Jayarama Rao Lalige, president of the mandali, presided over the function.
