ATM theft bid foiled

A 23-year-old man who was attempting to break into an ATM at Hulimavu has been arrested, thanks to a local residents who alerted the police after he grew suspicious.

According to the police, the resident heard a sound from the Corporation Bank ATM kiosk in Nrupathunga Layout in Hulimavu in the early hours of Tuesday and immediately alerted the police control room. A police personnel of the Subramanyapura police station, who was on night rounds, soon reached the kiosk and caught the accused red-handed. He has been identified as Nagesh.

Police said that Nagesh was in an inebriated state and was attempting to steal cash from the ATM by tying to break it open using a cement brick. There was no security guard at the kiosk.
