The Bangalore police’s efforts to nab the man who attacked a bank employee at an ATM kiosk here earlier this week have not yielded any results.
Meanwhile, the police in Tiptur in Tumkur district detained a man on Friday who reportedly resembled the assailant, and handed him over to the Bangalore police. However, it turned out that he was not the one they were looking for; a software engineer from Bangalore, he had reportedly gone there for a court case.
Another false alarm led the Upparpet police to a lodge where they questioned a man.

Condition improving
Meanwhile, sources at BGS Global Hospitals, where the victim, Jyothi Uday, is undergoing treatment, said her condition was improving. N.K. Venkataramana, chief neurosurgeon said: “We began physiotherapy on Thursday and a team of neurosurgeons is treating her.”
Her husband Uday Kumar added that she had been made to do some exercises. Although it would be some time before she could walk, her facial bruises were healing, he said.
She continues to remain in the intensive care unit.
