The sixth International Conference on Information Processing (ICIP), organised by the Society of Information Processing, Bangalore, will begin here on Friday.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) Principal K.R. Venugopal said the conference is sponsored by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, UVCE, Alpha College of Engineering and Vijaya Vittala Institute of Technology.
ICIP 2012 received over 382 papers from across the world, of which 75 were selected for presentation in 12 parallel sessions.
The authors are from the U.S., Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Italy, Mauritius, Oman, Thailand, and from leading Indian institutes such as Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
Among the topics that will be covered in the three-day conference are image processing and pattern recognition, data mining, software engineering, computer communication networks, wireless networks, computer architecture and distributed computing.
Registration
The registration fee is as follows: it is free for UVCE students, Rs.1,000 for other students and Rs. 5,000 for the general public.
ICIP will begin at 9 a.m. on August 10 at The Capitol Hotel, Raj Bhavan Road and concludes on August 12.
