On the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Adarsh Sugama Sangitha, a city-based light music academy, well-known playback singer S.P. Balasubramaniam will be presented with Adarsh Ratna award on August 13.
The annual Adarsha award will be conferred on B. Sudharshan, composer and noted guitarist while Chandrashekar Kambar, Jnanpith award winner, too will be felicitated at the function. The former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda will inaugurate the function at 5.30 p.m. at Town Hall. Pundaleeka Halambi, president, Kannada Sahithya Parishat; N. Cheluvarayaswamy, MP; C.S. Puttaraju, the former Minister; Shimoga Subbanna, singer; Doddarange Gowda, MLC; and proprietor of Sri Sai Gold Palace T.A. Saravana will be present.
A musical night has also been organised where more than 200 artistes including M.D. Pallavi, Archana Udupa, Mr. Subbanna, B.K. Sumitra, Kikkeri Krishnamoorthy, Venugopal Raju, Natraj, Mysore Gopi, will perform.
