The body of an Army jawan, who lost his life while trying to save an RPF constable from being attacked by a gang of pick pockets, was today flown to his native Gurdaspur village in Punjab.
The last rites of 31-year old Naik Nawtinder Singh of Punjab regiment would be carried out at his home town with full military honours tomorrow, a press release said here.
Mr. Singh was stabbed by some persons at the Bangalore Railway Station on November 7 when he rushed to the rescue of RPF constable Ramchandrappa. Police have arrested four persons in connection with his murder.
He is survived by his wife and two children - aged nine and three years, the release said.
