The Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) and counsel for the convicts completed arguments before the Karnataka High Court on Friday in appeals filed by AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa and three others challenging their conviction in the disproportionate assets case. Justice C.R. Kumaraswamy, who has been hearing the appeals since January 5, adjourned the proceedings to Monday as SPP G. Bhavani Singh told the court that BJP leader Subramanian Swamy was likely to submit his written statement on Monday.
The court had permitted Dr. Swamy to assist the SPP and file the statement.
The court held sittings for about 37 days, excluding weekly holidays, public holidays and adjournments, for hearing the appeals.
