Apriculture training held in Kolar

The Department of Horticulture and District Nursery jointly organised an apiculture training programme for farmers on Friday.

Deputy Director of the department M.S. Raju said Kolar district stood first in apiculture in the state and called upon apiculturists to make use of the facilities extended by the goverment to further develop the apiculture sector in the district. Additional subsidies would be provided to those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes communities.

Apiculture is a profitable sector as it requires less capital and fetches more income, expert Doddabasaiah said.

Horticulture department officials Ravindra, Shamanna, apiculture subject expert Nataraj, B.V. Vani were present.
