Anurag Tewari case: SIT visits his office, residence in Bengaluru

A Special Investigations Team (SIT) set up by the Uttar Pradesh government to probe into the death of Karnataka cadre IAS officer Anurag Tewari visited his office and residence here on Thursday.

Anurag Tewari was the Commissioner for Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Karnataka.

A native of Bahraich district in Uttar Pradesh, Anurag Tewari was found dead near the State-managed Meera Bai VIP Guest House in Lucknow on May 17 by passers-by.

The SIT members were accompanied by the late IAS officer’s brother Mayank Tewari.

The SIT members questioned the officer’s colleagues during their visit to the headquarters of the Food and Civil Supplies Department on Cunningham Road and another office in Vikasa Soudha. Sources said they also took some documents for further investigations.

The team also visited Anurag Tewari’s residence and took some documents in the presence of Mr. Mayank Tewari, sources said.
