Anti-encroachment drive continues in Banaswadi

Hundreds of commercial complexes, petrol pump and multi-storeyed buildings were demolished in Banaswadi on Saturday. The drive continued on Sunday.

Officials of District Administration continued with the anti-encroachment drive on Sunday and demolished over 50 structures built illegally on Banaswadi tank bed area.

The lake comprises of over 42 acres, of which over 25 acres have been encroached by private parties while over 14 acres has been encroached by BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) to convert into HBRB Layout, Tahsildar Harish Naik said.

“We have asked the building owners of the Layout developed by BDA to submit property documents for verification,” Mr. Naik said.
