The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Staff and Workers’ Federation has served intimation letters to four State government-owned road transport corporations (RTCs) saying that their employees would abstain from duty on September 2 and participate in a nation-wide workers’ strike called by 10 national-level labour bodies. In a letter addressed to the Managing Directors of the State RTCs, federation general secretary H.V. Ananthasubba Rao said the State joint committee of trade unions, in its meeting recently, decided to participate in the nation-wide strike, which is aimed at opposing the anti-labour polices of both the Union and State governments, according to a release.
