February 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - BENGALURU:

Karnataka State Anganwadi Employees’ Union and Anganwadi Workers and Assistants Federation have appealed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to provided minimum wage to workers as promised by him recently.

The Chief Minister had given them such an assurance following a protest they staged in Bengaluru on February 12.

“Based on his assurance, we withdrew our strike. We hope the Chief Minister will fulfil our demands and allocate funds for the purpose in the ensuing budget. If government fails to keep its promise, we will restart our agitation,” said S. Varalakshmi of the association.
