Persons who sustained injuries in stone pelting by protestors and caning by the police in Bommanahalli are stable, according to doctors in Prashanth Hospital, where they are being treated.

Except for a policeman Narendra, who has been injured in the occipital region, all the four protestors who have been admitted in the hospital have suffered minor injuries, said Hospital’s in charge Medical Officer N.D. Patil.

This apart, over 30 persons, including protestors and policemen, were treated as outpatients in the hospital.

“The policeman (Narendra), who was brought with severe bleeding in the occipital region, is responding to treatment now. We will keep him under observation for 24 hours and then take a call on whether he needs to undergo further treatment,” the doctor said.

The four protestors – Ansuya, Asha, Roja and Pavithra, who have been admitted – have suffered minor cuts and bruises. “Although we want to keep them under observation, they are insisting on getting discharged,” the doctor added.

Police inspectors Nagaraj, attached to Madiwala police station, and Victor Simon, attached to HSR Layout police, and additional commissioner (East) P Harisekharan also sustained minor injuries.
