All five arrested in bank heist case

The Kolar police have succeeded in nabbing all the five persons involved in the theft of about 2.9 kg. of gold ornaments from a bank branch in April this year.

The thieves entered the Canara Bank branch at Madanahalli in Kolar taluk on the night of April 20 and took away 61 packets of ornaments weighing 2926 grams.

While the police nabbed prime accused Shivaram on June 26, his accomplices were arrested recently, Superintendent of Police Divya told reporters here.

The police gave the names of the arrested as Ravi, Shivaraj, Dhanush and Anand. They also recovered a car, Rs. 4.50 lakh and looted ornaments.
