Actor's stunt fails to amuse police

Actor-director Harish Raj was arrested after he threatened to jump off the Santosh theatre building here after his film Gun was pulled out of the cinema on Saturday.

Amid all that drama, a police constable was injured when the knife Mr. Raj was holding grazed his hand. The police wrested the weapon from him.

Mr. Raj, a Vasanthnagar resident, was a supporting actor in 32 films and starred as the hero in Kalakaar and Gun . The latter was a flop following which Santosh ended its screening.

Upset by this, Mr. Raj scaled the building and threatened to jump from it.

The Upparpet police rushed the spot and arrested Mr. Raj.

Released

He was released on bail after being booked on various counts, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Division) S.N. Sidramappa told The Hindu .
