Kannada actor Ganesh has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that someone has created a fake Facebook account with his photograph to seek donation for charity.

A complaint in this regard has been lodged with the city police. Mr. Ganesh told The Hindu that he came to know about the fake Facebook account when one of his friends called him up and informed him about it on Thursday.

The imposter requested people to donate Rs. 1,000 to help a poor man. The imposter has also given the name and account number of a bank on MG Road to make donations and requested people to share his post.

“This is very disturbing. People know I am involved in many charity programmes, and I am worried that my fans will fall to this trap”, he added.

The city police who have received the grab of the Facebook page are tracking down the account holder and also verifying the bank account.
