A space for children to explore

May 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 01:33 pm IST - Bengaluru:

Imagine an environment in which a child plays to learn and adults learn to play. This is the concept of Girias Children’s Explorium, said to be the first of its kind in India.

Here, children have access to structures such as a five-storeyed edifice that helps develop their motor skills along with balance and a sense of adventure, a splash gallery where they can discover the power of water and the energy it can generate. Most activities are centred on fostering children’s imagination and creativity, said Manish Giria, one of the directors of Girias Children’s Explorium. The explorium has been specially designed by US-based designer Simon Lashford.

“This isn’t just a place to play but a place for family members to bond with one other sans technology,” said Mr. Giria.

The explorium will be launched at 2 p.m. on May 29 at Amarjyothi Layout, Domlur, Inner Ring Road.

This isn’t just a place to play but a place for families to bond with each other away from technology.
