Bengaluru: The State BJP on Monday upped the ante on the trading of allegations of corruption with a protest against the Congress.

State BJP president and former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, who recently alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid a huge sum of money to stay in power and took a ₹65 crore kickback for the steel flyover project, on Monday said: “Within 24 hours of coming to power, we will order a probe into all scams during the Congress reign.”

He added that the Congress is more concerned about how he got details of the diary of MLC Govindaraj, seized during an I-T raid, instead of answering the questions he has raised.

Responding to the allegations, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the BJP had been exposed in a recently released CD on the allegations of cash paid to the high command, which he termed as ‘baseless’. “People who have gone to jail are now criticising us just because elections are approaching. Congress will also organise protests against the corruption of the BJP,” he said.
