Veteran RSS leader M.C. Jayadev passes away

Veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Pracharak M.C. Jayadev died in Bengaluru on Monday morning. He was 83.

Jayadev, who was credited with strengthening the RSS in Bengaluru and various other parts of the State, had become its face for a long time.

He was suffering from old age-related health problems for the last few months, had been admitted to Sagar Hospital where he breathed his last. His body would be kept at the RSS State headquarters – Keshava Krupa – for his followers to pay their last respects, the last rites would be held at the Chamarajpet crematorium later.

RSS national chief Mohan Bhagwat and prominent leaders including Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi and Dattatreya Hosabale have condoled his death.

Jayadev became member of the RSS during his college days and headed its Bengaluru city unit in 1960. He headed the Karnataka and un-divided Andhra Pradesh units of RSS in 2004 and also became the national executive member of the organisation in 2009.
