Unreserved rail ticket counter at City Railway Metro Station

June 08, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 16, 2016 11:24 am IST - Bengaluru:

Namma Metro users alighting at City Railway Station will now be able to purchase unreserved railway tickets from a new counter set up adjacent to Platform No 10 of Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru station.

The ticket counter was inaugurated by Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru Sanjiv Agarwal on Tuesday. It will be a temporary counter for those alighting from the metro prompted by the confusion among commuters at the launch of the underground section. Those alighting from the metro station were caught and fined for entering the railway station without tickets.

“This is a makeshift arrangement. A permanent counter will be set up at a convenient location once the skywalk linking the metro station with KSR Bengaluru Railway Station (on platform 10 side) is completed,” Mr. Agarwal said.

Tickets will be issued in this counter from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. coinciding with the working hours of metro trains.
