Traffic constable hit by bike, dies

Bengaluru: A 35-year-old traffic constable, who sustained severe injuries in a road accident, succumbed at a private hospital on Thursday.

The deceased Ramesh S.H. was a 2005 batch constable posted at Yelahanka traffic police station. A biker knocked down Ramesh on Sunday while he was on duty near Cafe Coffee Day Circle in Yelahanka.

He was rushed to a near-by private hospital before being shifted to Columbia Asia Hospital where he succumbed on Thursday.

The biker, Raju, is a resident of R.T. Nagar. He is an employee of a private cargo company in Kempegowda airport. He was also injured in the accident and is undergoing treatment.

The Yelahanka police have taken up a case of death due to negligence, and rash and negligent driving against Raju.
