After more than five lakh answer scripts were evaluated digitally, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has decided to invite tenders for conducting digital evaluation of answer scripts of students from all streams and disciplines.
The decision was approved at the Syndicate meeting on Friday. Registrar (Evaluation) S. Sachidanand said the university was convinced about the benefits of digital evaluation. “This helps avoid transfer of physical answer scripts and makes it safer. It also ensures that the results are [declared] faster and more accurate,” he said.
Under this system, answer scripts are scanned and evaluators, who are given identity numbers, can ensure they are corrected. The final score is also calculated by the system.
The university has been using the digital evaluation method since May 2015 for PG exams, nursing exam and UG medical and dental exams. The university is in the process of setting up 15 digital centres.
