BENGALURU: Want to pledge your organs but don’t know how? You can do it online.

A new mobile app not only allows people to pledge their organs but also gives them the location of the nearest eye bank or medical college for full body donation, transplant hospital and more.

The app is GYO (Gift Your Organ). It was developed by Aguai Solutions Pvt. Ltd. It is said to be the first such app in the country.

Speaking after the launch of the app on Wednesday, Bimlesh Gundurao, CEO and co-founder, Aguai Solutions Pvt. Ltd., said, “In India, 500,000 people die every year due to non availability of organs. The key barriers are access, awareness and availability. With the rapid rise of mobile smartphones, we believe organ donation as a movement can be enabled in our country to ease the access and encourage more people to be a donor.”

The app is available as GYO in both Google Play and Apple iStore.
