BBMP revenue inspector commits suicide

A 40-year-old Revenue Inspector attached to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence due to alleged harassment.

The deceased H.C. Srinivas was found hanging at his residence in Sri Nagar, Hanumantha Nagar, on Monday evening, when his wife had gone to fetch children from the school.

According to the police, Srinivas who was working in J.P. Nagar area was transferred to Kempegowda Nagar last month. However, Srinivas was again transferred to R.R. Nagar area as his counterpart in K.G. Nagar did not handed over the charges.

Srinivas was home for the last 15 days and did not report to duty. He was under depression and was harassed by the local BBMP counsellor, his family members alleged.

The Hanumanth Nagar police have taken up a case of unnatural death and further investigations are on.
