In a major boost to several stations along Phase I of Namma Metro, close to 57 retail outlets are expected to come up in the next few months at 13 stations.

The BMRCL has invited proposals for the setting up of restaurants, day-care centres, cafés, and gyms among other categories at these stations. The request for proposals, which was called for on Saturday, lists out 47 categories of outlets which will be permitted at these locations. The M.G. Road station has space for the setting up of 15 outlets which is the maximum space being let out by BMRCL. “Keeping with our tradition of providing a push to startups and new entrants, we have relaxed the norms provided they meet certain conditions,” said a senior BMRCL official.
