Four cities have been added in Karnataka for holding the Central Board of Secondary Education's National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-UG 2017 on May 7, 2017.
The new centres are Davangere, Mysuru, Udupi and Hubballi. This is in addition to Bengaluru, Belagavi, Mangaluru and Kalaburagi.
Against 8,02,594 registered candidates last year for NEET- 2016, 11,35,104 candidates have registered for NEET-2017. This represents an increase of 41.42% in the number of registered candidates for NEET-2017 over NEET-2016. This is the highest number of registered candidates for NEET so far.
Looking into the substantial increase in number of registered candidates this year, the Minister of Human Resources and Development, Government of India aims to add 23 cities to the list of 80 where the examination will be held.
