150 candidates apply for post of BU vice chancellor

Bengaluru: The Higher Education Department has received over 150 applications for the post of Vice Chancellor of Bangalore University. The term of the incumbent B. Thimme Gowda ends on February 6.

The State government has appointed a four-member search committee to short-list candidates for the post. The members are Central University of Haryana Vice Chancellor Professor R.C. Kuhad, Gulbarga University Vice Chancellor S. R. Niranjana, former Vice Chancellor Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences S. Ramananda Shetty and academician Indumati.

“The search committee will meet soon to short-list candidates,” a source in the department said.
