Vishnu Anand, a class nine student of Sri Chaitanya Techno School, has bagged an award for designing an imaginary space settlement as part of the 2015 NASA Ames Space Settlement Design contest.

The task was to design and submit a “Space Settlement” or a space colony, where people can live and sustain life. Thousands of students between grade 7 and 12 from across the world participated. Vishnu’s entry was titled “Swarg”.

Only 85 entries made it to the final list, which was judged by NASA Ames Contractors Council and San Jose State University, at NASA Ames Research Center.

Vishnu's father and mentor Ram Anand said, “This contest helps young minds think creatively and innovate in the region of interstellar travel and deep space exploration.”
