Residents of Whitefield along with Forest Department officials will start a sapling planting drive in Mandur forest on Sunday. They aim to plant 1,000 saplings. “We should all pitch in to help fence and protect the urban forest,” Dipika Bajpai, Deputy Conservator Forests, Bengaluru Urban, said. Whitefield resident Utkarsh, who started this initiative with the help of local resident welfare groups said, “Whitefield needs its own Cubbon Park and Lalbagh.
