Zooming in on latest trends in photography

The Ukkunagaram Club, in association with The Framees Academy of Photography, Visakhapatnam, has conducted a free photography workshop for amateur and professional photographers.

The workshop was aimed to enhance photography skills and keep them abreast of the latest trends in photography, especially digital photography.

Inaugurating the workshop honorary secretary of the Ukkunagaram Club K. Rajagopala Naidu advised the participants to make the best use of the workshop. More than 50 photography enthusiasts participated.

S.V.S. Ravi Kumar of Framees Academy briefed the participants about the history of photography and elaborated on the various branches of photography and spoke on improving skills especially in digital photography.

Senior nature photographer and ornithologist S. Balaram, apart from exhibiting his nature prints, gave tips for taking nature photos. Another senior faculty A. Krishna Mohan explained the importance of photoshop in digital photography and working on it.

Highlight

Another highlight of the workshop is the exhibition of vintage cameras by C.J. Nehru of Vizianagaram. He exhibited the age-old cameras ranging from 19 century beginning with Kodak Field Camera (1890); Russell, Paris (1910); Carl Zeiss Plate Film Camera (1928); Voightlander (1950); Kodak 620; 1935 Box Camera; Agfa Gaevert Box (1940); Yashica mat 124 G. etc. Apart from exhibiting them he explained in detail about the working of the cameras and other technical details.

The programme was co-ordinated by president of The Port City Photo Art Society, Visakhapatnam, Gadu Satyanarayana.
