‘Yuvajana Yatra’ concludes

With the TDP Government not fulfilling the promises made, youth have been facing growing unemployment, former MLC and educationist K.S. Lakshmana Rao has said.

Addressing the conclusion of “Yuvajana Yatra,” organised by DYFI and SFI, at the Gandhi statue at GVMC on Friday, he said with the Chief Minister not being firm on special category status and not even able to obtain a good package in its lieu and the railway zone creation of employment suffered. Girijan University was still not functioning, he said.

The North Andhra districts were facing backwardness in education and health and unemployment further added to its problems, Mr. Lakshmana Rao said.

The yatra began in Srikakulam district on October 24 and covering Vizianagarama and the girijan areas of the district reached Visakhapatnam.

DYFI State general secretary M. Surya Rao, vice-prresident V.V. Srinivasa Rao and SFI State president G. Ramu spoke.
