“Competitions will unplug the talent of the youth,” Chairperson of Zilla Praja Parishad Lalam Bhavani said while inaugurating the State-level Youth Festival at the Youth Hostel here on Tuesday.

She urged the students to participate in cultural, sports, and painting events, apart from pursuing their studies to bring laurels to the country.

Additional Joint Collector D. Venkata Reddy, who presided over the programme, said that 99 artistes from 13 districts of the State were participating in various events such as Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, and Manipuri. One best performer in each event would be selected for the National Youth Festival.

Youth Welfare Officer and CEO of SETVIS A. Subbaraju and CEO of Vizianagaram unit Durga Rao participated.
