Yadavas seek Vizag LS, 5 Assembly seats

Asserting that the community has sizeable population in Assembly constituencies in North Andhra, the District Yadava Samkshema Sangham has urged TDP President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to allot at least one Lok Sabha and five Assembly seats to leaders from the community.

In a statement here honorary president Palla Simhachalam and president Bharikana Rama Rao thanked him for issuing the BC declaration.

They recalled in the 2009 elections when PRP gave for the first time the ticket to Lok Sabha to person from the community he polled 3.02 lakh votes against a formidable nominee like D. Purandeswari giving her a stiff fight.

Though TDP gave good representation to Yadavas in the past, in the last few elections the recognition was nominal, they said.

The two leaders said that in view of the strength, TDP should allot the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha and five Assembly seats.
