Pravin Kumar, who took charge as District Collector on Monday, said he would work like a team leader and sought cooperation from the people, officers and employees in making Visakhapatnam as the top-most district in the State and the city as No. 1 in India.

“People cooperated with me in the last two postings and I need their cooperation in my new posting also. As Special Officer of VUDA I would strive to make the city as the best city”, Mr. Pravin Kumar said after taking charge from outgoing Collector N. Yuvaraj at the Collector’s chamber in the Collectorate.

Focus on Agency

All areas are his priorities and there was also the need to reach the goals of the various Missions the State government was implementing, he said and pointed out that the Agency area needed more attention since its indicators were lower compared to those in the city and rural areas. But the situation in the Agency area has changed a lot compared to the past though there was need to improve communication connectivity in this area with undulating surface, he said.

“An environment has been created and Mr. Yuvaraj has set benchmarks and we will continue with the same,” Mr. Pravin Kumar said.

Sub-Collector of Paderu L. Siva Sankar, Joint Collector-II D.V. Reddy, DRO Chandrasekhar Reddy, and other officials, representatives of various employees’ associations, businessmen, and others greeted Mr. Pravin Kumar.
