Senior politician and former Minister Konathala Ramakrishna said on Wednesday that he was not joining any party.
“I would fight for the issues concerning the people of the State and Uttarandhra,” he said.
A senior Minister in the Cabinet of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr. Ramakrishna joined the YSR Congress and was one of its important leaders. He quit the party after the 2014 elections.
Later, there were strong attempts from some leaders of the TDP and BJP to bring him into their respective parties.
At one point of time it was thought that his joining the TDP or the BJP was imminent.
Putting speculation to rest, Mr. Ramakrishna announced that he would not join any political party but would take up people’s issues such as completion of the Polavaram irrigation project, Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi, development of Uttarandhra, etc.
