The online application process for layout approvals, building permissions and change of land use has been made fully operational from Wednesday and from now onwards all applications will be received only online.
Applicants in VUDA purview in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts have to submit applications on VUDA website www.vuda.gov.in., Vice-Chairman N. Yuvaraj said in a press release.
Though the facility was expected to be ready by June 20, it got delayed. Hitherto, applications were received manually and routed through various levels up to the Chief Urban Planner and finally the Vice-Chairman for issue of approval. As the process involved scrutiny and interpretation by officials, it was time-consuming and sometimes applicants were not able to know the status of their applications.
Delays removed
Now, with the introduction of online facility, applications will be forwarded on the same day to the staff concerned or the administrative officer for action and from them to planning officers and the Chief Urban Planner.
After the scrutiny and observations by the Chief Urban Planner, the applicant will be informed about requirement of any papers, if necessary, or will be marked for field inspection. This process will be completed within a week and the file will go to the Vice-Chairman for orders.
Both the Vice-Chairman and the Chief Urban Planer will have access and direct supervision to the application and its status right from submission to issue of permission, ensuring transparency and fixing of accountability.
Kiosk on eighth floor
Dr. Yuvaraj said a separate kiosk on the eight floor of VUDA office has been arranged for receiving the hardcopies of documents for the online applications. Applications received from July 1 and pending so far with the planning wing would also be converted and linked to the online facility enabling smooth functioning of the wing.
Shortfalls with the applications received online will be intimated immediately after scrutiny by the officials through SMS or email.
The online service will be extended in course of time to all wings in VUDA in a phased manner, the Vice-Chairman added.
