VUDA has so far received about 16,600 applications under the LRS and 11,100 have already been cleared
Under a special drive, Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) on Saturday cleared 1,027 applications under the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS).
The approval letters were issued after several rounds of scrutiny and field inspections. Chief Urban Planner R.J. Vidyullatha handed over the approval letters to some of the applicants, who attended the special drive and the remaining through counters arranged zone-wise.
Highest number of approvals 359 were issued in Pendurthy zone totalling. VUDA also gave approval letters for 101 in Anakapalle zone, 133 in Gajuwaka, 35 in Visakhapatnam city, 233 in Madhurawada, 28 in Anandapuram, 31 in Bheemili, 72 in Vizianagaram, and 35 in PCPIR zone.
Ms. Vidyullatha said VUDA so far received about 16,600 applications under the LRS and 11,100 had already been cleared.
The remaining applications are under scrutiny and the process is continuing to issue approval letters as per the provisions. New applications under LRS will be received up to June 30 and those owning plots in unauthorised layouts in the limits of Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region (VMR), the Chief Urban Planner said. Planning Officer K.D. Brainard, Deputy Director V. Ram Kumar, Administrative Officer N. Joseph, Assistant Planning Officers L. Subrahmanyam, B. Ramatirtha, and M.V.S. Reddy took part in the special drive.
