V.T. High School formerly known as V.T. College, celebrated its 64{+t}{+h} anniversary here on Saturday at its premises. Delivering the inaugural address, DIG of OCTOPUS (Organisation To Counter Terrorist Operations) N. Sanjay Kumar, and an alumnus of the school, went nostalgic recollecting his school days. The principal of the school P.N. Rao in his address urged the parents to imbibe values into the children. He also elucidated how he and his team of dedicated teachers, friends and family members undertook the journey to convert a small school to an institution that today houses over 2,000 students, over the last six decades. “The school was started by father and it was his dream to turn it into an institution and we have been successful in doing so,” he said.

The students also staged colourful cultural events to mark the occasion. A scene from Shakespeare's classic Merchant of Venice was enacted by a group of students. The Headmistress of the school P. Lakshmi also spoke.

Sanjay Kumar gave away the prizes to the toppers and young achievers of the school.
