VSP quality circle teams bag awards

Three quality circle teams from WRM, TPP and ETL departments of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant annexed ‘par excellence awards' besides nine QC teams winning excellent and five QC teams bestowed with ‘distinguished' awards in the recently concluded 25th national convention on quality concepts.

Total teams

The awards were presented by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Hyderabad. A total of 988 teams consisting of QC, 5S, Kaizen and other allied concepts from about 330 organisations with 6,200 delegates presented their case studies in the convention.

From VSP, 17 QC and seven 5S teams involving 164 employees presented their case studies. RINL Chairman-cum-Managing Director A.P. Choudhary congratulated the winning QC and 5S teams. He said the commitment of RINL workforce towards quality, team work has proven once again with these awards. He advised the RINL collective to make use of the QC and 5S platforms for individual development and thereby organisational development.

Other awards

VSP employees also won three par excellence awards, two excellence and two distinguished awards under 5S competition. In the quiz competitions conducted during the convention, VSP collective bagged two consolation prizes also.

For the first time non-works department like agro forestry bagged par excellence award in 5S competition at national level.
