VSP manager convicted in DA case

Principal Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam, Gayathri Devi, here on Friday convicted Manager of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Doddi Satya Venkata Rameswara Rao and his wife Adi Lakshmi in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced them to undergo five years and one year imprisonment respectively and imposed a fine of ₹ 51,000. As per the case, Rameswara Rao had acquired movable and immovable assets worth ₹ 1.02 crore from Aug 1991 and May 2008. Adi Lakshmi abetted her husband in acquiring disproportionate assets.

In the Attachment Petition filed by CBI, the Special Judge ordered the confiscation of property to the tune of about ₹ 94 lakh.
