Visakhapatnam district has stood first in the State in the category of creating work for 100 days for one lakh families during 2015-16 under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGS.
By creating 2,26,61,000 work days the district has stood first in the State, Collector N. Yuvaraj announced here on Friday. In the previous year 100 days work was provided to 60,744 families and during 2015-16 the district has recorded considerable improvement in all areas, like creating work for 5,62,000 belonging to 3,13,000 families having 4,70,000 job cards, compared to creating work for 5,44,00 belonging to 3.03 lakh families with 4.26 lakh job cards.
