Vizag doctors show the way for Samaikyandhra

Doctors from Telangana region, who had attacked the Osmania Hospital Superintendent, should note the way their counterparts in the city chose to react to it to the attack on Osmania Hospital Superintendent.

The Superintendent was reportedly attacked by representatives of Telangana Doctors Association and Telangana Medical JAC.

The doctors of the city, espousing the cause of integrated Andhra Pradesh, demonstrated to their counterparts in Telangana the culture of Seemandhra people by felicitating the Head of the Department of Physiology of Andhra Medical College Maruti Chandra Rao, who hails from Telangana, at the AMC Principal’s chamber on Tuesday.

Government Doctor’s Association state secretary Pidakala Shyam Sundar called upon all right thinking people to condemn the attack on the Osmania Hospital Superintendent in one voice. He said that a representation would be given to the Chief Minister by the Central Committee to demand suspension of those who were responsible for the attack. The representatives of Samaikhyandhra Student JAC also condemned the attack.

Doctors, nurses, class-IV employees, medical and nursing students on the banner of Samaikhyandhra Medical JAC formed a human chain and blocked the traffic as part of the continuing stir demanding that the state should be kept united.

The protests by the Medical JAC continued for the 34 day and the relay hunger strike continued for the seventh day on Tuesday. Doctors P.J. Srinivas and Ajay Prasad, N. Siva Rao, M. Srinivasa Rao, D. Sudha and R. Sankar Rao participated in the relay fast on Tuesday.

A cycle rickshaw rally was taken out by employees of the Commercial Taxes Department from the VUDA Office to the Gandhi statue near GVMC to protest against bifurcation of the state.

The officials of the department said that their agitation would be intensified further. The participants raised slogans in support of ‘Samaikhyandhra’.

Youth Congress leaders participated in the relay hunger strike near the Gandhi statue. Pendurthy MLA Panchakarla Ramesh Babu punched a portrait of KCR. City Congress president Behara Bhaskara Rao and Mahila Congress president Pedada Ramani Kumari were present.

Telugu Desam leaders and activists continued their protests near the Gandhi statue. Samaikhyandhra Political JAC convener J.T. Rama Rao said that the airport would be picketed on September 9 as part of the movement to keep the state united. He appealed to all sections to participate in that strike.
