YSR Congress leader Y.S. Sharmila Reddy’s ‘Maro Praja Prasthanam’ walkathon will enter the district from East Godavari on June 24. Party workers are making elaborate arrangements to roll out a red carpet to the daughter of former chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy when she reaches Narsipatnam on that day at 4 p.m.

Party leaders said she would hold the ‘rachabanda’ programme and interact with people on the roadside to know their problems and address meetings.

Visakhapatnam will become the 12th district for her padayatra.

She will be entering the district after covering 2,500 km. The padayatra in the district will last for 12 to 13 days covering an estimated 170 to 180 km. A huge public meeting will be held in the city to mark completion of her padayatra in 100 Assembly constituency in Visakhapatnam South.

During her padayatra, she will hold meetings in Chodavaram, Madugula, Pendurthy, Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam West, North, South, East and Bheemunipatnam Assembly segments and later leave for S. Kota of Vizianagaram district.

YSR Congress city in-charge M. Prasad Raju, Payakaraopeta MLA G. Babu Rao, city convener Vamsi Krishna Yadav, North Andhra coordinator Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, former MLAs Gandi Babji, Chengala Venkat Rao, K. Ravibabu and leader G.V. Ravi Raju said the route map for the yatra would be finalised in consultation with rank and file of the party.
