Vivek Jyothi reaches City of Destiny

Vivek Jyothi, the 2,625-km-long torch relay being organised as part of the 150 birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda entered the city on Thursday.

Fifty athletes are participating in the torch relay, which started at Kanyakumari on December 23 and would conclude on January 12 at Chinsurah in West Bengal after touching Swami Vivekananda’s ancestral house and the Belur Math in Kolkata. The Vivek Joythi was received at B.V.K. College here by members of the Sri Swami Vivekananda Swachhanda Seva Samsta, B.V.K. College, and Visakhapatnam Vivekananda Yuva Mahamandali.

A meeting was organised on the college premises which was addressed by Swami Nivyayogananda of Ramakrishna Mission.

College principal Chandrasekhar Naidu presided. Later, the Vivek Jyothi participants and the students conducted a run on the Beach Road.
