Visakhapatnam students excel in CAT 2013

Md. Gouse Jani, who made the city proud by bagging the State number 1 rank in EAMCET four years ago, has now brought laurels to the city at the national-level by scoring 99.99 percentile in CAT 2013.

Md. Jani belongs to a lower middle class family and his father drives an autorickshaw for a living. He has been a topper all through his academic career.

He is presently pursuing his final year engineering at Andhra University College of Engineering. He had availed of the classroom program (regular) at Conduira for CAT 2013.

He expressed gratitude to his teachers for being able to score 99.99 percentile in the first attempt, at a media conference here on Thursday. Karthik Vishnu Karanam, a student of BITS Pilani (Goa campus), who also availed of the same course, secured 99.90 percentile. Karthik had secured 97.05 percentile last year but chose to go for a better score and made it this time.

Garima Tiwari, a BDS student of GITAM University, secured 99.20 percentile in her first attempt despite not having a mathematics background. “I put in a lot of hard work and the practice tests helped a lot.

The promising career opportunities after CAT have prompted me to crack the examination after finishing my BDS course,” she said.

Sri Vishnu Datta Vedula (Andhra University), who underwent the test series and PDP program at the institute, secured 99.61 percentile, while Rahul Gupta (IIT, Hyderabad), who underwent intensive program and Vamsi Krishna Korada (ANITS College of Engineering), who underwent the regular program, secured 98.61 percentile.

Conduira directors Shashank and Deepthi said that 19 students of the institute have scored 98 or more percentile in CAT 2013.

T.I.M.E.

A total of 12 students of T.I.M.E., Vizag, have secured 99 percentile and above in CAT 2013. As many as 52 of the students of the institute from Vizag secured more than 95 percentile, according to a statement issued by the institute.
