Visakha Music Academy conferred its prestigious title Sangeetha Kala Sagara on violin maestro Komanduri Seshadri in its ongoing six-day festival of music and dance at Kalabharati in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.
Academy’s vice-president Kandala Srinivasa Rao and secretary M.S. Srinivas along with Vice- Chancellor Andhra University G.S.N. Raju, who was chief guest, and guest of honour P.V. Rajya Lakshmi conferred the title and felicitated him.
The award carries a gold medal and citation. The maestro in his response said that despite great human endeavour down the ages to understand it, the depth of music remains unfathomable leaving its innumerable aspects for exploration.
With decades of experience in the realm of music, he could only learn a point that there was much yet to learn, he added. Awards mean greater responsibility to live up to expectations and strive further for perfection to artistes, he added.
He reverentially recalled his Gurus and their insightful instruction which paved the way for his life.
V.S.N. Murthy, T. Krishna Rao, N. Ramachandran, Vaddiparthi Narasayya and others took part.
Later, the maestro’s scintillating concert enraptured the audience.
