Villagers get pure drinking water facility

The project was taken up by RINL at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh under CSR.

A community drinking water system built by RINL at Chepalapalem village under the Corporate Social Responsibility was inaugurated on Friday by RINL Director (personnel) G.B.S. Prasad.

The project was undertaken by RINL-VSP at a cost of around Rs.15 lakh under which 20 litres of pure drinking water would be supplied to the villagers at Rs. 3.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director listed out the welfare activities undertaken by the RINL at Chepalapalem. The primary school building in the village was repaired at a cost of 10.05 lakh, free eye camp was organised and a cancer detection camp was conducted using Sanjeevan Mobile Cancer Detection Van provided by RINL-VSP earlier in the village.

Adult Women Literacy Programme through ‘Pratham Education Foundation’ at a cost of 2.67 lakh is under progress at the village. Bio-mass cook stoves which reduce emission of smoke and consume less wood were distributed to 310 families.

During 2013-14, a general medical camp was organised and furniture, computers, play equipment, fans, lights were distributed at a cost of Rs 2.67 lakh. General managers, senior officers, trade union leaders and village president were present.

Dr. Prasad also inspected various lands belonging to VSP to prevent encroachments. In this connection, he advised Township Administration officials to take all measures to protect VSP lands.
